Justify picking another horse? Not here

A bog at Pimlico Race Course should only helped the Kentucky Derby winner Justify in his bid to take the middle leg of the Triple Crown. Regardless, Justify seems far ahead of his peers, even if he were to regress a bit. It’s a battle for second, and that’s wide open.

Race 13 | Grade I Preakness Stakes | 1 3/16 miles

1. Justify
2. Diamond King
3. Good Magic
4. Bravazo

Comment: Justify has exhibited no flaws. He should be on or near the lead and in control. With a number of contenders for second, the local has a reasonable shot at second. Diamond King won the Federico Tesio at Laurel Park and is fresh for this. Good Magic, the Derby runner up, would be most logical to be second, but might be vulnerable if the Derby took more out of him than Justify. Bravazo was one of a few to overcome traffic challenges in the Derby and can improve.
